An evergreen shrub native to the Andes of Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, Salvia corrugata inhabits mountain slopes and forest margins. Dense upright flower spikes carry deep violet-blue two-lipped flowers among dark purplish calyces. The leathery opposite leaves have a strongly wrinkled upper surface and pale hairy undersides.
