Salvia amethystina

Salvia amethystina is an Andean shrub native to Colombia. Opposite aromatic leaves line branching stems, while tall flower spikes carry blue-violet two-lipped blossoms held in spaced whorls. Research-grade observations document it in Colombia. Its square stems and opposite leaves reflect the structure typical of the mint family, while the inflorescences extend well above the foliage.
