Ruspolia hypocrateriformis 'Ruddy Rose'

Ruspolia hypocrateriformis ‘Ruddy Rose’ is a cultivated selection of an evergreen African shrub. Opposite glossy leaves frame dense terminal clusters of long tubular flowers. The cultivar produces rich rose-red blossoms whose narrow tubes flare into five small lobes, creating rounded heads above the foliage. The flowers are packed into terminal heads, and the persistent green calyces remain around the bases of the long corolla tubes. Photographed in Florida.
