Rudbeckia laciniata

Rudbeckia laciniata is a tall rhizomatous perennial native to North America. Deeply divided leaves grow on upright stems topped by yellow flower heads. Drooping ray florets surround elongated greenish to brown central disks, and the mature plants can form broad colonies. It occurs naturally along stream banks, wet woodland edges, and moist meadows where the soil remains consistently damp. Photographed in Florida.
