Rosa (Red Roses)
Red roses are cultivated perennial shrubs in the genus Rosa. The color group includes many garden varieties rather than a single botanical species. Roses have upright or arching, usually prickly stems and compound leaves with toothed leaflets. Flowers may be solitary or clustered, and single, semi-double or double in form. Fertile flowers can be followed by fleshy hips containing numerous small dry fruits. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
