Rockhausenia nubigena
Rockhausenia nubigena is a high-elevation perennial in the sunflower family, native to the northern and central Andes. A low rosette of thick gray-green leaves surrounds large daisy-like flower heads with pale ray florets and yellow centers. The plant is adapted to cold, exposed grassland above 9,800 feet. Research-grade observations document it in Ecuador and Peru. Photographed in Colombia.
