Rhynchostele ehrenbergii pale orchid flower with purple brown patterned sepals and a broad white lip

Rhynchostele ehrenbergii

Rhynchostele ehrenbergii is a pseudobulbous epiphytic orchid native to Mexico. Narrow leaves rise from compact pseudobulbs, and the flower stems carry large star-shaped blossoms. Pale green to white sepals are heavily marked with purple-brown patches, while the broad white lip has yellow near its center. The arching inflorescence emerges from a mature growth and spaces the patterned flowers beyond the foliage. Photographed in Florida.
