Rhynchanthera mexicana

Native to Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico Gulf, and southeastern Mexico, this is a shrub in the Melastomataceae family. One of six native Colombian species of the genus Rhynchanthera with a habitat between 2,300 and 5,900 feet. Photographed in the western Andes mountain range of Colombia.
