Rhipsalis floccosa small cream flowers opening directly along a slender brown green jointed stem

Rhipsalis floccosa

Rhipsalis floccosa is an epiphytic cactus native to tropical parts of the Americas. Its slender, jointed green stems hang or arch from tree branches and rocky surfaces in humid forest. Small cream flowers emerge directly from the stems and are followed by berry-like fruits. Its photosynthetic stems replace conventional leaves and branch into many pendulous segments that spread through the forest canopy. Photographed in Florida.
