Ratibida columnifera

A perennial herb native to the central regions of North America, Ratibida columnifera grows in prairies, plains, and open roadsides. Each flower head has a tall cylindrical central disk surrounded by drooping yellow, reddish brown, or bicolored ray florets. Finely divided leaves form an airy mound beneath the upright flowering stems. Photographed in Florida.
