Ranunculus praemorsus is a perennial Andean herb native from Mexico and Central America through western South America. Hairy divided leaves form low growth beneath upright yellow flowers with many glossy petals and central stamens. The species occupies montane grassland and open slopes, naturally reaching elevations above 13,000 feet. Research-grade observations document it in Ecuador and Peru. Photographed in Colombia.
