Punica granatum (Pomegranate)

A drought tolerant, fruit-bearing deciduous tree originating in the Mediterranean region with many cultivars. Widely cultivated with India and China taking the lead. The fruit is called granada in Colombia. Photographed in the Valley of Cauca, Colombia.
