Psittacanthus schiedeanus

Psittacanthus schiedeanus is a woody hemiparasitic plant native from Mexico through Central America. It grows on tree branches, drawing water and minerals from its host while producing energy through its own green leaves. Clusters of long tubular flowers open in yellow, orange, and red shades, with curved stamens projecting outward. Research-grade observations document the species in Panama. Photographed in Colombia.
