Pseudomussaenda flava yellow tubular flower cluster beside a large pale cream sepal

Pseudomussaenda flava

Pseudomussaenda flava is a tropical shrub native to western and central Africa. Opposite leaves form a dense green background for clusters of small yellow tubular flowers. Research-grade observations document the species in Panama. The enlarged pale sepals remain visible beside the smaller yellow corollas and make the flowering clusters conspicuous against the leaves. Photographed in Colombia.
