Pseudognaphalium microcephalum
Pseudognaphalium microcephalum is an annual or biennial herb native to western North America. Upright stems and leaves are covered with pale woolly hairs that reduce moisture loss. Numerous small flower heads are grouped into compact branching clusters near the stem tips. The species grows in open, disturbed ground, dry slopes, and roadsides, where its wind-dispersed seeds can colonize exposed soil. Photographed in Florida.
