Prestonia portobellensis

Prestonia portobellensis is a woody tropical climber native from central Mexico through Central America to Ecuador. Opposite leaves grow along twining stems, and the unusual flowers have pale tubular centers surrounded by narrow purple-striped lobes. The species occupies wet tropical forest and lowland vegetation. Research-grade observations document it in Colombia, Ecuador, and Panama. Photographed in Colombia.
