A palm has two branching flower clusters beneath feather-like leaves in forest vegetation

Prestoea schultzeana

A clustering palm native from southeastern Nicaragua through western South America to central Peru, it belongs to the Arecaceae family. Several slender stems may arise together beneath crowns of pinnate leaves. The arching inflorescences divide into many fine branches that later support small fruits. The species grows primarily in wet tropical forest. Photographed in Peru.
