Posoqueria (species undetermined)


A genus of shrubs and trees native from Mexico through tropical America, Posoqueria belongs to the Rubiaceae family. Members have opposite, stalked leaves and flower clusters at branch tips. Their tubular flowers have five lobes and five stamens, with unequal filaments. The fruits are fleshy berries containing numerous seeds. These are general characteristics of the genus; the species of this plant remains undetermined. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
