Pleroma ochypetalum
Pleroma ochypetalum is a flowering shrub native to Ecuador and Peru. Its leaves show the strong lengthwise veins characteristic of the melastome family. Large purple flowers have broad petals surrounding long, curved stamens that create a distinctive center. The species grows in Andean environments within its native range.
