Plantago major

Plantago major is a perennial herb native to Eurasia and now widespread in temperate and tropical regions. The plant tolerates compacted soil and repeated disturbance. Research-grade observations document it in Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, and Peru. Each seed capsule opens around its middle and releases numerous small seeds that become sticky when wet.
