Pittosporum undulatum

An evergreen tree native to eastern Australia, it belongs to the Pittosporaceae family. It develops a spreading, rounded canopy and grows in rainforest, wet eucalypt forest, and sheltered woodland. The glossy leaves have wavy, untoothed margins and cluster toward the ends of branches. Strongly fragrant, white to cream-colored flowers grow in terminal clusters. Orange capsules become woody and open to reveal numerous reddish seeds held in a sticky mass. It can spread aggressively into disturbed forest. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
