Pitcairnia bergii arching inflorescence lined with narrow red orange tubular flowers

Pitcairnia bergii

Pitcairnia bergii is an Ecuadorian bromeliad that grows terrestrially in humid tropical vegetation. Its elongated leaves form a basal clump, and an arching inflorescence carries narrow red-orange flowers separated along the stalk. The tubular flowers expose yellow reproductive structures at their tips. Research-grade observations confirm the species in Ecuador. Photographed in Colombia.
