Pinguicula × Tina violet five lobed flower held on a slender stem against dark foliage

Pinguicula × 'Tina'

Pinguicula × ‘Tina’ is a cultivated carnivorous butterwort hybrid between the Mexican species Pinguicula agnata and Pinguicula zecheri. Its flat rosette of sticky leaves traps small insects, which supply nutrients in mineral-poor conditions. Slender stalks hold violet flowers above the foliage. The hybrid is grown in bright filtered light with mineral-free water and an open low-nutrient medium. Photographed in Florida.
