Picramnia pentandra

Picramnia pentandra is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to southern Florida, the Caribbean, and parts of Central America. It grows in tropical hardwood forest and develops slender flower clusters followed by small berries that become red and then dark at maturity. The dense crown has glossy compound leaves. Its Florida populations occur near the northern limit of the species’ range. Photographed in Florida.
