Phytolacca meziana

Phytolacca meziana is a tropical American member of the pokeweed family. It grows as a substantial herbaceous plant with broad leaves and elongated flowering racemes. Small pink flowers are spaced along a reddish axis and later develop into fleshy fruits. The species is distinguished from related pokeweeds by a combination of floral and fruit characters used in botanical identification. Photographed in Florida.
