This orchid an be found from Costa Rica to Brazil. Its long-lanceolate leaves and the potential for an inflorescence reaching about 3 feet, with around 10 flowers, provide a distinct aesthetic appeal. The flowers possess long lateral petals that add to its ornamental value​. Among orchid enthusiasts, the species is part of several hybrids. Photographed in Quindio, Colombia.
