Phragmipedium humboldtii 'Fortuna'

Phragmipedium humboldtii ‘Fortuna’ is a cultivated selection of a slipper orchid native from southwestern Mexico through Central America to Panama. The species grows primarily in wet tropical habitats and has elongated petals surrounding a pouch-shaped lip. Its roots require air and consistent moisture rather than dense compacted soil. Research-grade observations document Phragmipedium humboldtii in Panama. Photographed in Colombia.
