Philodendron Prince of Orange
Developed in Florida, this cultivated hybrid is an evergreen perennial herb in the Araceae family. It has a compact, upright rosette of leaves arising from a short, thick stem. The leaves are glossy and leathery, with pointed tips, smooth margins, and prominent midribs. New foliage is bright orange, changing through apricot and yellow-green to pale or medium green as it matures. Short, sturdy leaf stalks are pinkish red. Its tissues contain calcium oxalate crystals that irritate the mouth if chewed. Photographed in Florida.
