Philodendron pastazanum


Philodendron pastazanum is a terrestrial aroid native to Ecuador. Its creeping stem grows along the forest floor and produces broad heart-shaped leaves on sturdy petioles. The inflorescence has a pale outer spathe, a red inner surface, and a cream-colored spadix. Research-grade observations are concentrated in Ecuador’s humid tropical forests, including the Amazonian region. Photographed in Colombia.
