Phanera bidentata
Native to tropical and subtropical Asia, Phanera bidentata is a vigorous woody climber in the Fabaceae family, often found in lowland and hill forests up to 3,300 feet in elevation. It produces large, showy terminal clusters of flowers that range from golden yellow to deep orange, with each bloom featuring five petals and prominent reddish stamens. The flowering season typically occurs in the dry months, when the plant is most visible against the greenery of the forest canopy. Its leaves are bilobed, a trait characteristic of many Phanera species, providing a distinctive two-lobed silhouette. Photographed in Florida.
