Pentas lanceolata (Egyptian Star-cluster)
Native to Bangladesh, Burundi, Comoros, DR Congo, Djibouti, and Eritrea and nearby regions, this is a shrub in the Rubiaceae family. This small shrub has many cultivars and flower colors. Designed in mass plantings in Florida. It has a penchant for attracting butterflies. The flowers are edible, offering a sweet taste thanks to their high nectar content.
