Pentaclethra macroloba

Pentaclethra macroloba is a tropical tree native from Central America through northern South America. It is common in wet lowland forests and develops a broad crown of finely divided leaves. Long cream-white flower spikes contain numerous projecting stamens and are followed by woody pods. Research-grade observations document the species in Colombia and Panama. Photographed in Colombia.
