Pavonia sepioides

A shrub of tropical South America, Pavonia sepioides is recorded from Colombia and Venezuela south through Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and northwestern Argentina. It bears softly hairy stems and leaves, with solitary flowers emerging from the leaf axils. Each flower has five warm yellow petals surrounding a compact central column of stamens.
