Pavonia multiflora

Pavonia multiflora is an evergreen shrub native to southeastern Brazil. It belongs to the hibiscus family and grows primarily in seasonally dry tropical habitats. Its upright flower heads combine deep red bracts with narrow projecting floral structures, while the glossy leaves form a dense green background. The species is cultivated in warm climates for its unusual long-lasting display. Photographed in Florida.
