Pavonia bahamensis

A woody shrub native to the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands, Pavonia bahamensis grows in seasonally dry tropical habitats, including coastal scrub and rocky coppice. The flowers have a pale, bell-shaped corolla, while a projecting column bears clustered stamens and stigmas. Its restricted island distribution has contributed to its Near Threatened conservation assessment. Photographed in Florida.
