Patrinia scabiosifolia
An upright herbaceous perennial native from southeastern Siberia across eastern Asia to Vietnam and Japan, Patrinia scabiosifolia grows primarily in temperate meadows, grasslands, and open slopes. Its branching stems carry broad, flat clusters of small yellow flowers. Each flower has five spreading lobes and prominent stamens, while rounded buds open progressively across the inflorescence. The plant spreads through short underground rhizomes and can form broad clumps over time. Photographed in Florida.
