Native to Bolivia, northern Brazil, west-central Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Ecuador and nearby regions, this is a vine in the Passifloraceae family. It is a vigorous ornamental vine with bright red, fragrant flowers. The sour fruit is edible. Photographed in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia.
