Parthenocissus quinquefolia (Virginia creeper)

Parthenocissus quinquefolia, commonly called Virginia creeper, is a woody climbing vine native from southeastern Canada through much of the United States and Mexico to El Salvador, with native populations in Bermuda and Cuba. Its tendrils end in adhesive disks that allow it to climb trunks and walls without twining. The compound foliage typically has five leaflets, and the flowers are followed by small fruits. The species has become established outside its native range in several regions. Photographed in Florida.
