Papilionanda Mimi Palmer
Developed in Singapore, this perennial hybrid orchid is celebrated for its strong, sweet fragrance, often compared with chocolate or cotton candy. Brown tessellations cover the petals and sepals, contrasting with a mauve lip. It grows from a single continuing stem rather than a chain of pseudobulbs. Named for Mimi Lim Palmer, it is one of Singapore’s heritage orchids and can be propagated from stem cuttings. Photographed in Florida.
