Palicourea lineata cluster of slender purple flowers opening to pale lobes

Palicourea lineata

Palicourea lineata is a tree of the wet tropical Andes from southwestern Colombia to Peru. Colombian botanical records place it between about 9,500 and 11,000 feet in Cauca and Valle del Cauca, including elevations associated with upper Andean forest and pƔramo margins. Its inflorescences are branching clusters of slender tubular flowers that open into small lobes. Photographed in Colombia.
