Oxalis vulcanicola

Native from Chiapas in southern Mexico through Central America to western Panama, this low, spreading perennial herb has fleshy stems. Its leaves have three leaflets that move with changing light, turning toward the sun and closing in the evening. Small yellow flowers are carried on slender, purple stems. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
