Oxalis frutescens
Native from the southwestern United States through Mexico and Central America to northern Argentina, and in parts of the Caribbean, this upright perennial shrub has stems that become woody, especially near the base. In Colombia it occurs in the Caribbean lowlands and Orinoquía, including savannas and native grasslands. It also grows in dry scrub, disturbed ground and along rivers. Its yellow flowers are carried in branching or umbrella-like clusters arising from the leaf axils. Photographed in Barranquilla, Colombia.
