Oncoba spinosa
Native to Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, this shrub or small tree is commonly called fried egg tree. Broad white petals surround a dense mass of golden-yellow stamens, creating the appearance behind its common name. The showy flowers stand out against the foliage. Its branches can bear spines, reflected in the botanical epithet spinosa. It belongs to the willow family, Salicaceae.
