Oncidium Sweet Sugar
Developed in cultivation from Aloha Iwanaga and Gomesa varicosa, this perennial hybrid orchid forms compact clumps of light green pseudobulbs. Each pseudobulb carries two leaves at its tip. Mature clumps can be propagated by division. Branching flower stems carry masses of brilliant yellow blossoms about one inch across. The broad lips create the familiar dancing-lady shape. It is widely grown as a flowering houseplant and has received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit. Photographed in Florida.
