Oenothera lindheimeri

Native to Texas and Louisiana, this clump-forming herbaceous perennial is commonly called gaura or Lindheimer’s beeblossom. Slender flowering stems reach about three to five feet tall. White flowers have four upward-directed petals and long projecting stamens, giving them a light, butterfly-like appearance. Blossoms fade toward pink as they age. It belongs to the evening primrose family. Photographed in Colombia.
