Octomeria juncifolia
Native to southeastern and southern Brazil, this perennial orchid grows on trees in wet tropical habitats. Small yellow flowers have pointed spreading segments and a contrasting orange-yellow central lip. Its leaves are slender and rush-like. As an epiphyte, it uses branches for support while remaining botanically separate from the tree on which it grows. Photographed in Florida.
