Nematanthus tropicana

Originating from the tropical rainforests of Brazil, Nematanthus 'Tropicana' is an evergreen perennial that thrives in warm, humid environments, typically growing to a height of 12 inches and spreading up to 20 inches. This plant has pouch-shaped flowers that exhibit a bright orange hue with red stripes, resembling small goldfish, which bloom profusely throughout the year under optimal conditions. The flowers are complemented by glossy, dark green leaves. As a hybrid, 'Tropicana' was developed through the crossbreeding of Nematanthus perianthomegus and Nematanthus gregarius.
