A spreading Myrospermum frutescens tree carries numerous pale flower clusters beneath a blue sky

Myrospermum frutescens

Native from central Mexico through Central America to Venezuela and Trinidad, this tropical woody species grows as a shrub or tree. White pea-like flowers with pale yellow-green markings develop in clusters along the branches. The spreading crown can produce a broad flowering display. In Colombia, it grows in the Caribbean lowlands, from sea level to about eleven hundred feet. Photographed in Colombia.
