Clusters of pink-purple Myrmecolaelia Veronica Romero flowers display narrow wavy petals and sepals

Myrmecolaelia Veronica Romero

Of cultivated hybrid origin, this intergeneric orchid was registered as a cross between Laelia superbiens and Myrmecophila brysiana. Long branching stalks carry clusters of pink-purple flowers. Narrow, strongly wavy petals and sepals give the blooms a ruffled outline, while the broader lip forms a distinct central feature. Photographed in Florida.
