Myosotis arvensis (Forget-Me-Not)

Native from Europe through Siberia to the western Himalayas and to northwestern Africa, this annual to short-lived perennial herb can form a winter rosette of hairy, gray-green leaves. It reaches about 16 inches tall. Curved flower stalks gradually unfurl, opening successive small blue, occasionally pink flowers with five lobes. It grows in open places and roadside verges and provides food for pollinating insects. It has become naturalized in northeastern Taiwan. Photographed in Florida.
